MOLLY ROBINSON

First class physio

BSc Physio (Hons),  MVetPhys (distinction)

Molly graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University. After graduating, she worked for York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for two years on rotation, and in MSK outpatients.

Here she gained broad experience in many aspects of healthcare, working on medical and surgical wards, acute elderly, and stroke rehabilitation. It was a great opportunity to apply her knowledge in a real-world hospital setting.

After that, Molly switched to the private sector, working in a private MSK practice while completing further study at the University of Liverpool - where she gained an MSc with distinction in Veterinary Physiotherapy.

A keen sportsperson (hockey and netball) and self-confessed animal lover, Molly competed in eventing in the UK. Eventing is often referred to as the "triathlon" of horse riding, combining dressage, cross-country and show jumping, and testing the skill and endurance of both horse and rider. In her most recent competitions, she rode a former racehorse called Rosie.

These days she balances her work between human and animal physiology, working two days as an animal physiotherapist. Strange as it might sound, this work has helped her fine tune her people skills. "Animals can't talk, so you have get good at reading them. It's the same for us humans - someone's posture and movement can reveal a lot about their underlying condition."

We're so glad Molly made the decision to move to New Zealand late last year. She now works at our Onekawa clinic in Napier on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
